These two statues are called "Gong Ma" which means grandfather and grandmother. They are sitting together in a dignified manner. They demand their children to obey their rule and respect elders. In ancient china, people used to display them at home to let their children discipline. In feng shui, it is said that displaying them at home can help children educate and respect elders.
